Charles Butler's Barley Sugars are a traditional boiled sweet, one of the first made in the 1840s. With a hint of lemon flavour it was the "energy sweet" of its day now boxed in fantastic packaging based on the original packaging from his Sheffield shops from 1848.In his own words:
My Barley Sugars really are bang up the elephant, if I say so myself. I got the recipe, which is over 300 years old from those clever French Benedictine Johnnies. They afford excellent refreshment for wayfarers of hill or dale, so pop one in your sauce box, and away!
I began making my Rambunctious confectionery in 1848 and have continued with steely determination to only ever make confections of the topmost quality. All my products defy the industrialists and their confounded mechanisations and use our skilled sugar boilers own hands. with over 100 years experience making my confectioner they really are top notch!
My boxes are 190g of finest confections and I am selling them as single boxes so you can purchase as many or as few as you would like. I have tried to keep the pricing simple and so I have included the cost of the postal workers in the price of each box.
You must try them, you will enjoy them!
